Everyone is still aware of the impressive potential of Tesla cars for the price, but a German shop was not impressed enough with their Model 3 because they decided to give it a tank track.
To begin with, they made a frame outside the square-section steel tubing. Next, they installed drive sprockets on it using heavy duty pillow block bearings. Tesla’s driveshafts spin the inputs that go through a gear reduction that rotates the tank tracks. Once all assembly was complete, a suspension system was installed, the tank tracks were fitted to the sprockets, and the car was finished.

To better understand how huge the tracks were, Model 3 had to be driven on 6-high pallets to fit them. And regarding that installation, it took six hours, but it carried the car with a 6-ton carb weight and 80 cm (31.5 inches) of ground clearance. To get inside, the driver had to climb over the frame because of how high the car was sitting on the ground, and he had to go in through the windows as the tracks now closed the door.
The team added a few accessories to complete the off-road look. Not complete without off-road auxiliary lighting, which is why Tesla was fitted with a huge light bar featuring four dinner plate-sized light pods. There’s also a winch in the front, but we don’t think there’s going to be any problem with this vehicle being able to get out of a sticky situation under its own power.
