An incredible collection of 18 commemorative corvettes has been sold MekumIn Indianapolis, its Spring Sale is a whopping 1.375 million, close to the $ 1.32 million offered for a single Dodge Charger Daytona at the same auction. The collection of Indy 500 Pace cars was collected by Dr. Richard Foster, an Indiana physician who began acquiring cars as a way to remember every Indy 500 race he participated in.
The 18-car cast included replicas of the original Pace car, Festival car and approved Pace car and was sold due to the deteriorating health of Foster, who lived 50 miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and joined his first Indy 500 in 1954. 12.
Eight of the Corvettes are Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) – approved replicas and six are factory-made pace car commemorative models. But two cars, a 2005 Corvette and a 2006 Z06, were used as parade cars from the races that took place in those years, as well as the original speed car and the Pace Car Lever in the 2004 collection.

He has received four honors from Bloomington Gold and the NCRS, including the black and silver 1978 car made on the occasion of Corvette’s first outing as an indie pace car. Foster’s example is only 50 miles on the watch, though it’s nothing compared to the 17 miles shown in his Retina-Searing 1998 convertible, whose yellow wheels make it one of the most memorable versions, if not the most beautiful.
Part of the sales structure, but not shown in the image below, is a 2022 model that is currently awaiting conversion to a dynamic vehicle feature with an approved replica decal. When completed, it will be delivered to an unnamed buyer who transferred 1.375 million to create his own pop-up pace car collection.
That’s a big part of the change, but it works at a cost of less than $ 77,000 per car, which some might think makes the collection a better value than the record-busting হ 1.32 million for a frozen-equipped Charger Daytona or the $ 963k one. Only two 1971 Chevrolet Corvette ZR2 convertibles were sold at the same auction.
