At $ 350,000, is this ’54 Chevy Bel Air Restomod packing under 640 HP

It’s been a long time since Chevrolet Bell Air dropped production, but enthusiasts are still breathing new life into the platform. This stunning blue restmode hides a set of completely updated components and turns them into a 640-horsepower supercharged V8. And now it could be yours for a great $ 350,000

The LT4 V8 under the hood of this Bell Air is undoubtedly important because it offers modern flashes but it has other details that make this build special. An 8L90 automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels and smooths out the RideTech Air Ride suspension bumps.

The driveline and suspension sit on top of a bespoke custom scotch hot rods chassis and the whole thing is brought to a stop with large six-piston willwood brake calipers attached to slotted and drilled rotors. Custom 20-inch wheels fasten those brakes and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires package off. These rear tires are also 345mm wide so power down will not be a problem.

It’s a small touch though as it may be the most impressive in the case of this classic American coupe. Externally, fans of die-hard bell-air will notice small nipples and baldness coming out of the body with a sharp smooth appearance. Inside the cabin, it’s just as detailed.

Period-correct Dakota digital gauges sit in front of the driver and control the transmission via the locker shifter. A vintage air system looks almost factory but provides modern climate control. A Rockford Fosgate sound system with 400-watt 4-channel AMP is also included so that buyers can enjoy modern sound quality.

Even drainage tips get their own special treatment. They are designed in an oval shape to help avoid scratches, scraps and other damage that can result from low ride height. This is not the first time that retro design has worked with Bell Air and its experience is shown here.

Last time Bell Air unveiled it was a huge splash at SEMA with an original retrieved exterior and completely refined driveline and interior. That wild restored may not be available but this new one is for anyone who has $ 350,000.
