BMW has announced a series of 2022 updates for several models, including the 2-Series Active Tourer, 2-Series Coupe, 4-Series Gran Coupe, 5-Series, 6-Series Gran Turismo, X5, X6 and Z4.
Starting with the 2-Series Active Tourer, it will soon be available with two new plug-in hybrid powertrains as well as a new light-hybrid diesel. Both plug-in hybrid models have a three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a rear-mounted electric motor. Entry-level 225e xDrive Active Tourer rates 245 hp and 230e xDrive Active Tourer 326 hp.
For the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel, it powers the 223d xDrive Active Tourer and sports 48-volt light-hybrid technology. It is rated at 197 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).
Moving on to the 2-Series Coupe, it is now offered in 218i camouflage with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 156 hp and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) and an 8-speed steptronic automatic transmission. BMW has added an M240i range, featuring the same 3.0-liter turbo-six as the M240i xDrive but now only produces rear-wheel drive and 374 hp. BMW has updated the 2022 2-Series coupe with a new paddle shifter and its curved display, which includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment display.

Moving on to the 4-Series Gran Coupe, it will now be available without the M440i camouflage all-wheel drive and only rear-wheel drive. A new 430d xDrive Gran Coupe with a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel six rated at 286 hp and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) has also been launched. An M Sport Package Pro is also being launched for all 4-Series models, including the i4 M50.
Similarly, BMW has launched a new M Sport Package Pro for 5-Series sedans, 5-Series Touring and 6-Series Gran Turismo. The Z4 also includes enhanced standard equipment and a full digital gauge cluster. The X5 and X6 models now also have Sensafine decor-quilted interior trim.
From July 2022, the BMW M3 sedan will also be available with the automated curved display mentioned above. It can also be replaced with a wireless charging tray, the new M interior trim finished in aluminum rhombic anthracite and, for the first time, the Frozen Pure Gray Metallic finish. A new M graphics package has been launched separately for the M4 coupe.
All BMW models equipped with the new operating system 8 will receive an updated navigation system and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
