BMW tests new M2 in Salzburg, says it will have similar performance

It will still be a few months before we see the full unveiling of the brand new BMW M2 but that has not stopped the company from teasing us with new information about it. Today we get new photos and details of the Hot Sports Coupe when it laps Salzburg in Austria and from what we see, it is going to be a pure driving machine.

We won’t know the details until October this year, when the M2 will go on sale next spring. Nonetheless, we can be sure that the courage of this car sounds like a recipe for complete success. Although slightly larger in every dimension than the old car, BMW says that the “new production car boasts the same level of performance as the BMW M2 CS.”

We’ve seen quite a bit of the M2 before, and even the back of it seems to have a clear glimpse. The car is expected to produce between 430 hp (436 PS / 321 kW) and 490 hp (497 PS / 365 kW) depending on the trim, while BMW has confirmed that it will be available with a six-speed manual or an eight- Speed M steptronic automatic transmission.

Notable for Salzburg’s high-speed turning and technical final sector. Highlights a long straight top-end motion on the homestretch. BMW further revealed that the new M2 is equipped with “powerful brake system (which comes from M3 and M4”).

This is a great mix for a sports coupe that needs to be improved on an already very good M2 formula. Again, we now know that this car will be a little bigger and slightly heavier than the outgoing M2 but it will not push us if it continues to move forward as the best driver M car.

In the new images provided by BMW, we see a number of important details such as a detailed infotainment / driver information display and updated sports seats in this car. It even has an interesting little car featured in the infotainment system which, unless we make a mistake, is a representation of the legendary M1.

All-new SsangYong Torres debuts in Korea with rough look, starting price at 21K

Ssangyong has officially unveiled the all-new Torres in Korea as the latest member of Slotting’s SUV range between Korando and Rexton. Characterized by the rough appearance of Torres, combines the styling cues of popular brands.

For previous teasers we already had a pretty good idea about the exterior design and the real life photos are very close to what we expected. The front end features a zip-style grille with six vertical slits, thin LED headlights, strong dynamic lines on the bonnet, large incorrect intake, and an aluminum-style skid plate.

The profile includes tone-up front and rear fenders, large alloy wheels up to 20-inches (17-inch and 18-inch wheels are standard), an optional side storage box like Land Rover Defender, and optional side steps. On the back, the tailgate has a bump that looks like an integrated spare wheel cover for past 4 × 4 models. The LED taillights are reminiscent of Ford Explorer and have a matching skidplate on the rear bumper.

Going inside, we find an elongated digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and another 8-inch touch panel for climate control under the Jaguar Land Rover fashion. The four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel has a number of integrated buttons, while the dashboard, door and center console have metallic accents as opposed to leather upholstery.

Depending on the trim level, the equipment includes ambient lighting, six speakers, four USB ports, ventilated front seats, seven airbags and plenty of ADAS. According to SsangYong, the Torres has 703 lt (24.8 cubic feet) of luggage space in a five-seater configuration, which folds up the rear seats to 1,662 lt (58.7 cubic feet). The company also offers some outdoor equipment, including a canvas tool for sitback and a cooling box for your camping trip.

We don’t have all the technical details, but SsangYong mentioned a T-GDI engine – probably the same turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol unit found in the Corando – exclusively combined with a six-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to the front wheels, but for those who want off-road certification, there is an optional 4WD to match the SUV’s rugged style.

In Korea, SsangYong Torres is already available to order with prices ranging from ₩ 26,900,000 ($ 20,911) to ₩ 30,400,000 ($ 23,630). There are also reports of a fully electric version of Torres, which will arrive in Europe by 2023.

Here’s what happens if you turn a Ford Ranger in the opposite direction when traveling at 50MPH on 4WD.

What happens when you put a four-wheel-drive car in the opposite direction while driving? This is a fleeting question that many may ask while cruising on the road, but no one is foolish enough to give it a shot.

In the name of science, however, the YouTube channel AutoVlog answers questions using a 1994 Ford Ranger with a manual gearbox and four-wheel drive.

Michael Weim, a master of car destruction, has already tried to answer this question with a Chevrolet Prism. The difference is that the Prism was just a two-wheel drive with an automatic transmission, so the Ranger should promise a lot more fighting.

The Ranger resisted the first attempt at destruction only by going in the opposite direction and turning the wheels backwards when the clutch was released. Although that effort was only in 2-wheel drive mode.

For the second attempt, the transfer case is placed in 4-low mode, Vim gets the truck up to 45 miles per hour (72 km / h) and the transmission is reversed. The most obvious thing in the world happens then; There’s a whole bunch of grinding sounds, and everything breaks down. New sounds are coming out of the truck now, including a wailing and ticking sound.

The net effect is quite weatherproof, as the truck just pops and breaks and then stops. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

It’s all in the name of science, sort of. Now we know that a four-wheeled drive car should not be placed in the opposite direction when going to the front. Didn’t we know in advance? Well, now we know it twice.

This isn’t the first time Ranger has been asked “What if?” Weim has also tested keeping red bull, tequila and vodka in the gas tank, and the truck may be subject to further abuse in the future.

Porsche ceramic composite brakes are offered as an alternative.

The 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet America is distinguished from a standard model by the original 1953 356 America Roadstar-inspired bold exterior finish. Jidu Robo-01 EV is coming in 2023 with Level 4 autonomy and ট্যাগ 30k price tag

A few months after the official teaser, the Chinese company Jidu unveiled its first concept: Robo-01. The fully electric SUV is built by technology giant Baidu and will be manufactured by Geely, with the goal of bringing the Level 4 autonomous driving capability to market. The concept previews a production model that will follow in 2023, leaving 90 percent of the design.

The Robo-01 was shown at a special event held at Metaverse before its physical debut at the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show on November. Apparently, it has an aerodynamic shape with lots of curves and a premium design. The Jidu Star features three available colors, Porcelain White, Nebula Gray and Galaxy Purple, all paired with a set of cool-looking black arrow-shield wheels. High-tech LED lights have AI digital pixel technology, which communicates different signals to the world like thumbs up.

The car combines the front scissor doors with the rear suicide door, giving easy access to the cabin. Inside, the Jidu Robo-01 dashboard features a spacious high-definition screen, mirror-replacement camera, a retractable yoke-style steering wheel that folds when not needed, a futuristic center tunnel with a touch-sensitive area, and four separate seats. . As reported by Car News China, the EVT DuerOS comes equipped with artificial intelligence software, while the hardware includes a NVIDIA Orin X chip and a Qualcomm 8295 processor.

More importantly, the two leader bonnets pop up from both sides, combining 128 lasers in each, giving it a range of 200 meters (656 feet). These will be combined with twelve cameras, twelve ultrasonic radars and five millimeter-wave radars that will continuously scan the surrounding area.

At the moment, the highest level of autonomy in the market is Mercedes-Benz Level 3, so getting close to a fully autonomous car (Level 5) and introducing Level 4 is a big deal for a Chinese car manufacturer. In reality, the Jidu Robo-01 will be able to run on its own most of the time under the supervision of a driver. Jidu CEO Xia Yiping says that in the new era of automobiles, “driving rights” will be transferred from humans to artificial intelligence.

Jidu did not elaborate on the electric powertrain of our SUV, but we guess we will learn more as we get closer to the concept’s debut in Guangzhou. Production of the Robo-01 will begin in 2023 by Geely, soon to be the model’s first delivery in China. The model will be priced around ¥ 200,000 which is roughly 30,000, making it rather cheap for the technology it carries. Jidu’s first EVT will be paired with the second production model launched in the market in 2024.

Impatient Porsche cuts the Panamara driver trucker, gets rear-ended

There are some things that crush our gears a lot like impatient drivers, especially when they cause such stupid crashes.

Dashcam footage recently shared Reddit Captured shows a truck driver going down a two-lane road when, suddenly, a silver Porsche is spotted by Panamera.

Even though it was a two-lane road, the Panamanian driver thought it would be best to try to overtake the truck. We can’t get inside the guy’s head but suspect he wasn’t happy with the speed of the traffic around him.

In the video, he is seen pulling alongside the trucker but then notices that the black estate in front of him brakes to allow a woman to cross at a pedestrian crossing. When the Porsche driver was able to avoid the rear end of the estate, he headed straight for the truck, without giving the trucker time to respond. The truck ended up hitting the rear bumper of the Panamera.

It is interesting to see what happened after the accident because the pedestrian who witnessed the whole incident is seen explaining to the driver of the Porsche that he was responsible for the accident after he went in front of the truck. The Porsche driver, meanwhile, looks quite frustrated and, based on his hand gestures, seems to be blaming the trucker.

Outside of this, as an example of what can happen when you are impatient, it is also seen that just a few seconds after the accident, the driver of the Porsche was confused, he got out of the car and was seen talking on his phone.

The electric Fiat 500 runs on highway speeds without running out of batteries

Stalantis’ work on the future of driving continues in his “Arena del Futuro”, an experimental road where inductive charging is being tested. Automaker has announced that it has been able to achieve the same level of efficiency as fast charging stations

In fact, Stellantis says it has been able to get an electric Fiat 500 to travel at highway speeds without using the energy stored in its batteries. Magnetic field intensity tests have further shown that it can do this without affecting the driver.

This is great because it means that on highways with inductive charging technology, the range of electric vehicles can be virtually infinite. Stellantis is working with several partners on this technology.

The test facility, located in Chiari, Italy, uses a system of coils under the asphalt that transmit power directly to cars, buses and trucks when they are equipped with a special receiver. That energy goes directly from the road to electric motors, allowing them to run on batteries.

The “Arena del Futuro” uses direct current (DC) to reduce the loss of electricity during the power distribution process. This allows road builders to use thinner wires made of aluminum instead of copper, which is cheaper and easier. The automaker further promises that there are no exposed wires, despite having electric field, this technology makes it safer for people to walk on the road.

“Our long-term strategic plan, Dare Forward 2030, is based on bringing a ‘sophisticated freedom of mobility’ to all, and this project is the essence of where we are going as a company,” said Annie Liz Richards, Global e-Mobility Business Unit. Chief, Stellantis. “These joint ventures are exciting initiatives because we work to achieve longer battery life, shorter range concerns, greater power efficiency, smaller battery size, outstanding performance and lower weight and cost.”

The Sbarro Alcador GTB costs five times more than the Ferrari 360 Modena

Taking a car like the Ferrari 360 Modena and trying to improve it with a bold new design is only going to end one of two ways. One is that the resulting car will be a perfect masterpiece while the second is that it will be nothing more than an unpleasant explanation for the fact that it was a subtle supercar. We’re not 100 percent sure if this Sbarro Alcador GTB actually falls into the second category, but it certainly doesn’t look anything like a donor car.

First presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008, the Sbarro Alcador GTB was commissioned by the Linhard family and apparently, only three examples were produced. Thanks to one of those units hit the used car market in Germany Mobile.d. In addition to looking completely different from the typical 360, it is significantly more expensive, asking মূল্য 395,000 ($ 422,000), an exorbitant sum when you consider that used 360s are available in Germany for around € 70,000 ($ 74,838).

Read more: For 60K, will you get a Ferrari 360 Spider or a Lamborghini Gallardo?

The difference between the Alcador GTB and the car on which it is based is the brand new bodywork that has nothing to do with the 360. The front of the car has round headlights and turn signals, similar to the TVR Tuscan. The unique bodywork continues along the side where Sbarro has overhauled the shape of the door, wing mirror and glass canopy.

One of the main reasons why the Alcador GTB differs so much from the Canopy 360 is that the car knocks on the door of a pair of butterflies. The rear of the car is as bold as the front and the side, it has a glass engine cover, large air intake, standalone taillights, a strangely shaped bumper and quad tailpipe.

As far as we can tell, the 360 Modena’s 3.6-liter V8 has no performance changes, meaning it is pumping 394 hp (400 PS) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque.

The man trying to pull out the blaze of a car discovers what happens when you throw a fire

The Internet is full of videos of children throwing or throwing soda bottles just to be small rockets for them. I didn’t realize it could happen with a fire extinguisher.

A video recently posted on Reddit shows what happens when a fire extinguisher is dropped. The short clip already opens in a chaotic scene, as a car parked at a bend slowly burns into flames.

A person wearing a blue shirt considers the situation, tries to do what seems wise, and tries to use a fire extinguisher in the car. Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment, the extinguisher slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.

When this happens, the extinguisher is damaged and it creates a serious leak. The contents came out so loud that the canister began to spin and fly in the air, scaring the people around who were trying to help.

The canister is driven so high that it can easily fly many times higher than a nearby two-story building and fly away. It is almost unbelievable how the fire extinguisher flew away and the spectators were quietly stunned as they watched the scene.

Unfortunately, as much as I can imagine, it was bad news for everyone involved. The owner of the car that caught fire certainly did not appreciate losing a way to put out the fire. Undoubtedly the one that was near the extinguisher during the landing was also quite frightened, because I can’t even imagine the metal canister coming down very gently running through the air.
