The UK is going to be scared because ORA funky cats will be sold this fall
To celebrate the brand’s arrival, Funky Cat will be launching a “very high specified” first version of the cut, priced at £ 30,495 after factoring in the government’s plug-in car grant.
Although the model is more expensive than the Nissan Leaf and Mini Electric, the Funky Cat First Edition includes LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and an available two-tone paint job. Other highlights include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Inside the cabin, buyers will receive a power front seat with leather upholstery. They are joined by a wireless smartphone charger, a dual-zone climate control system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a passive entry system.
In terms of safety, there is an assortment of driver assistance systems with adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, and lane centering function. They are joined by a rear cross traffic alert with a blind spot monitor, rear parking sensor, a 360 degree camera system, and emergency braking.
The inspiration is provided by a 48 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that feeds a front-mounted electric motor that produces 169 hp (126 kW / 171 PS) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. This setup enables the model to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km / h) in 8.3 seconds, before hitting a maximum speed of 99 mph (159 km / h).
In addition, funky cats have a WLTP range of 193 miles (311 km). When the battery is low, a 6.6 kW charger can take up to 15-80% in about five to six hours. It goes down in three or four hours with an 11 kW charger, where an 80 kW DC fast charger can accomplish the same task in about 40 minutes.
The company will begin accepting £ 100 deposits next month, and Automaker noted that their ORA online sales platform will launch in August. Despite the offer of online sales, the ORA said there would be a “big focus on ghost retailers”. The company has also released additional trims, which will probably be more affordable, coming in 2023.
In a statement, Great Wall Motor Vice President Yao Fei said, “The UK is a core launch market for the GWM ORA brand and I look forward to launching our first product, the ORA Funky Cat later this year. As a new disruptive EV brand, we We will offer products with a unique design that will bring a new look to the streets of Europe. “
