Hoonipigasus is for the 1,400 HP Porsche 911-based racer Pike Peak in Ken Block.

Racing driver Ken Block and the Hunigan Racing Division have unveiled their latest racer built by BBi Autosport. Honeypigasas as they say it is loosely based on a Vintage 911 but has a mid-mounted 1,400 hp engine, Extreme Aero and a special pink lever to pay homage to Porsche’s racing past.

Racecar, competing in the PPO (Pix Peak Open) class, is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter flat-six engine that can produce 1,400 hp. More importantly, it moved from the rear to a midship position, transmitting power on four wheels via an AWD system. Overall weight is limited to only 1,000 kg (2,205 lb), while the “Chorizo” transmission tunnel turns to the lower level of the center of gravity. For the suspension, it is height-adjustable based on GPS data using telemetry for previous year’s races.

Apparently, the 911 body has undergone major changes to better fit its new role. The huge front splitter and huge rear wings will create all the downforce needed for the Pike Peak race. They are integrated with ultra-wide front and rear fenders, a cut-off rear end that looks a lot like a Beetle, a rooftop air intake, an extra ductel spoiler, as well as a set of monoblock racing wheels in wide toy tires.

Liberty Trouble was designed by Andrew, also known as GucciGhost, a former Olympic snowboarder, musician and street artist. Its design is inspired by the 1971 Porsche 917/20 Le Mans racer’s iconic “Pink Pig” lever, featuring white and black graphics in a pink shade, as well as the red Pegasus symbol of Mobil 1, the main sponsor.

Ken Block says: “Pike’s Peak Hill Climb is a big reason why I’m a rally driver. I have many heroes on the list of riders who climbed this mountain: Walter Rohrol, Ari Vatanen, Michelle Mouton, Sebastian Loeb, and Rod Milne. I’ve always wanted Pike’s Peak to have the opportunity to race at the top and compete for the overall victory. ” Note that this will not be the first race of the block at Pikes Peak, since he raced a low-spec Group N rally car during his racing debut year in 2005, when he shot the film “Climbkhana: Pikes Peak” in 2017. BBi has won eight podiums and five classes in the Autosport race.

Hunipigasus Pikes Peak International will make its racing debut on Hill Climb, scheduled for June 26, 2022, its 100th year. The goal is to finish the first overall behind the wheel of the block which has been described as the “vested 911”.
