It could be the 2024 BMW X6 M60i powered by a new light-hybrid V8

The updated 2024 X6 appears to be a medium spiced version tested by our spies in Germany. Sitting below the full-fat X6 M, this high-performance version is believed to take its name from the X7 M60i (and the electric ix M60).

Built around the upcoming X6 Facelift, the rear bumper sports quad exhaust outlets of the test car are featured just like its larger X7 M60i siblings. The prototype you’re looking at here has big wheels and brakes, while the camouflage holes suggest that it also has a lot of air intake. Although, with compassion, the grill seems to be of reasonable size.

The name M60i will be a reference to the S68 engine, the BMW blog reports. Although it replaces the M50i, the recipe will be familiar. If it were like the X7, it would get a light-hybrid 4.4-liter V8 that produces 523 hp (390 kW / 530 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

As we saw in the previous spy photo, it looks like for this update, the X6 will get a modified grille, slimmer headlights and a new front bumper with an updated central air intake with angular support.

Back then, in the meantime, we hope the production taillights are a bit different from these and for playing new graphics. This prototype, however, wears the taillights of the current generation X6. Elsewhere, the exterior design will remain largely unchanged, which is not surprising for such mid-cycle updates.

Inside the cabin, the changes are expected to be more significant. Like BMW’s other lineups, the updated X6 will take the brand new big infotainment suite. This means a huge unit that combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen into a curved display. Elsewhere, we can expect minor trim and color updates.

The refreshed X6 will debut next year and is expected to sell as a 2024MY car.
