Lexus Electrified Sport Concept to Debut Euro at Speedy Goodwood Festival

The Lexus Electrified Sport Concept will be unveiled for the first time outside of Japan at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of June.

Participants in the annual celebration of all things vehicle will have the opportunity to see a variety of electric vehicles, including the Lexus RZ 450e and UX 300e. Will be visible on All Electric Avenue, an area of the show dedicated to EVs.

Clearly advertised as the spiritual successor to the Lexus LFA for the electric age, the Electrified Sport concept combines outstanding coupe design with impressive EV performance, although not all details have been released yet.

The Automaker promises that the Electrified Sport Concept will have a range of 435 miles (700 km) and will be able to reach speeds of 62 miles (100 km / h) from stagnation in a “low two-second range”. The final production version of the car can achieve all of this and reduce its weight through the potential use of solid-state batteries, which Toyota (among others) is working on.

First unveiled in February, Lexus says the concept represents what its electrification outlook will mean in the next few years.

The RZ 450e, meanwhile, is a vision of what the near-term electric future will mean for the brand. Unveiled in April, the luxury SUV rides on a brand new electric platform. It will benefit from optional steer-by-wire with a one motion grip yoke and a range of 280 miles (450 km).

Finally, the UX 300e represents the brand’s current EVs. Now available to European dealers, the crossover produces 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and has a range of 196 miles (315 km) in WLTP cycles.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs June 23-26.
