The third-generation Isuzu D-Max is a fairly capable pickup, but the off-road-prepared Arctic truck AT35 version takes things to another level. The latter served as the basis for the one-off camper presented by Isuzu UK at the CV show. Known as Basecamp, the new version looks ready for any kind of adventure in the wild.
In honor of its name, an iKamper SkyCamp Mini 3.0 roof tent has been set up at the basecamp. It is accessible by stairs, with ample space for two adults to sleep. Tenants will be protected under solid shells that come with quilted insulation and will be able to enjoy the night sky with Skyview windows.

Other changes include a black aluminum gearmate hardtop canopy for the rear bed, with a glowing-type side and rear access door. Inside the enclosed cargo area is a modular roller drawer system of ARB Outback Solutions. Features a slide-out kitchen with luggage space, a fridge and a 3-burner gas stove, and a 12-liter collapsible sink. Finally, the rooftop ARB base rack system lets you store gas, water and fuel containers, and recovery boards, saving back space for personal items.
In terms of styling, the D-Max comes with full Arctic truck treatment with wide fender extensions, side steps and 17-inch black alloy wheel shades on 35-inch 315 / 70R17 mud-ground tires. In addition, the basecamp is fitted with a bull bar, three additional lights, a roof-mounted LED bar, a protector for bonnets and “supernaturally inspired” decals.
Below the bonnet is stock 1.9-liter turbodiesel that produces 162 hp (164 PS / 121 kW) and 266 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque, the only alternative to the D-Max in the UK market. Power is sent on four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, with a six-speed automatic option.
Although the basecamp is a one-off designed for demonstration, interested parties can easily switch to a similar Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 and turn it into an irresistibly capable camper ready for adventure. In the UK, AT35 starts at 47,999 ($ 59,992).
