Polyester announced today that it has begun supplying Hertz vehicles as part of a previously announced deal. As part of the deal, you can now rent the Rare Plug-in Hybrid Polyester 1.
The Polyester 1’s plug-in hybrid drivetrain produces an impressive 609 hp (454 kW / 617 PS) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Through extensive use of carbon fiber and special Ohlins dampers, it has been acclaimed as a well-equipped performer.
For Polyester, though, the big news is that it has begun handing over all-electric Polyester 2s to Hertz. As part of an agreement to supply the rental company with a total of 65,000 vehicles over the next five years, the order is significant for the Swedish brand.

“Our partnership with Hertz is an exciting milestone that gives a significant number of potential new customers the opportunity to experience an EV for the first time and will be in a polyester,” said Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polyester. “With over 55,000 polyester cars already on the road across our 25 live markets, there is no doubt that our brand is growing at an incredible pace.”
Polestar does not disclose exactly how many Polestar 2s have been delivered but it will not be the only EV to be handed over to the company Hertz as part of the deal. It will equip the company with other models, such as the Polestar 3 electric SUV, which is set to premiere in October.
“We are excited to add this first delivery of polyester to our fleet, expanding the opportunity for Hertz customers to enjoy an electric driving experience,” said Darren Arrington, Executive Vice President, Revenue Management and Fleet Acquisition for Hertz.
In addition to being able to rent Polyester 2 soon, the public will also be able to see it in Hertz’s current “Let’s Go” marketing campaign.
