Pontiac may die but the screaming hen survives with Smoky and Day

The 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, run by Bert Reynolds in Smoky and the Bandit, has an endless appeal, it cannot be denied. And there’s no need to look beyond the Porsche Tycoon to prove it.

Posted on R / shitty_car_mods subreddit, Taycan has a black and golden liver with pinstripping and, most importantly, on the hood of a bird crest (aka The Screaming Chicken).

The design and enduring application of the film goes beyond the era of exclusivity for Pontiac, Bert Reynolds and internal combustion vehicles. The post has a disappointing little context but, from what we can see, Taycan leaves a nice impression of a trans am.

Outside of the engraved image, it features gold wheels like a car featuring smoky and bandit, as well as gold highlights under the headlights, which again returns to the movie car.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that an electric car has donated this decal. In 2018, we reported on a white Tesla with screaming chicken on its hood. Oddly enough, it also had a hood scoop, which the owner of this tycoon – wisely, in my opinion – decided to leave.

Owners of electric vehicles keep putting the design on the hoods of their vehicles, not sure what that means, but I think it’s kind of beautiful. Just because we’re entering a new era in the automotive industry doesn’t mean we can’t look back.
