Rare Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadster is a shining example of American muscle

A rare Shelby Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadstar will go up for auction Mekum In June.

Although the list states that it is a 1965 model, it was not actually built in 1965 and was revived in the 2000s when Shelby launched the CSX4000 series as a tribute to the original car. Only 40 examples of the Cobra CSX4000 series models have been produced over the years and this example is number 29 and one of only five featuring a hand-made, polished aluminum body.

The exterior of the car for its glossy aluminum panels is truly a sight to behold, highlighting every crease and curve in the iconic design. Complementing the exterior finish is a 15-inch Trigo wheel with vintage Goodyear Eagle billboard racing tires. There is also a chrome roll hoop and side extinguishing exhaust.

Powering this Cobra CSX4000 Series Roadstar is a 427 cubic-inch Stroker V8 that pumps 535 hp and 545 lb-ft (739 Nm) of torque. The engine sports two Holy Four-barrel carburetors and is combined with a four-speed manual transmission to drive the rear wheels.

The Mekum The list states that bare disc brakes are characterized by four angles and that the cobra also has adjustable coilover. It is equipped with a Shelby / Dana 44 rear differential and has a rack and pinion steering system.

A look inside the cabin reveals black leather upholstery all over the dashboard and seats. There is also a wooden rimmed three-spoke steering wheel and the dash is personally signed by Carol Shelby.
