Volkswagen is celebrating 20 years since the debut of the first generation Touareg, a new special edition of the third generation model called “Edition 20”. Exactly ten years after the Touareg Edition X, the anniversary comes with a long list of special unique trim and standard tools.
The VW Touareg Edition 20 is apparently distinguished by the new Melo Blue paint, combined exclusively with a set of 20-inch gloss-black Bogota wheels. The same treatment has been used for wheel arches and diffusers, matching the black exterior trim of the R-badged model in the photo. The new special edition of the Touareg features tinted windows, LED taillights with a cherry red glow, and B-columns with “Edition 20” badges.

Inside the cabin, the version 20 logo appears on the illuminated seal and lever of the automatic gearbox. Ceramic (light beige) seats decorated with black savanna leather with diamond stitching and piping. The dashboard comes with ceramic and red piping, matching the red accents around the cabin. More importantly, the Innovation Cockpit Travel Assist with a huge 15-inch infotainment touchscreen is included in the ADAS as well as standard equipment that allows for semi-autonomous driving. Nevertheless, fancy air suspension with roll compensation features is optional.
Version 20 is available with four different powertrains – two diesel, one petrol and one plug-in hybrid. On the diesel front, our 3.0-liter V6 TDI produces 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft) of torque or 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 420 Nm (420 Nm). lb-ft). The petrol option is a 3.0-liter V6 TSI with 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 450 Nm (331.9 lb-ft) of torque. Finally, the plug-in hybrid V6 TSI (eHybrid) produces 375 hp (280 kW / 381 PS) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The most powerful Touareg R plug-in hybrid is not included in the “version 20” range, probably because it is cold enough by itself.
The VW Touareg Edition 20 is already available for order in Germany starting at শুরু 77,530 ($ 82,585) for entry-level V6 TDI. In the last two decades, Volkswagen has sold more than one million units of the Tourge. The VW range flagship SUV shares its platform with Audi Q7 / Q8, Porsche Cayenne / Cayenne Coupe, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus, although their character and market position are quite different from each other.
