Some cars have the historic presence of the E30 BMW M3. It was such an impressive car that today, the latest M3 is still a highly preferred car. This 1990 example is ready for auction and looks so clear that it could be anywhere near $ 140,000 or almost double the price of the 2022 model.
Offered for sale in the Bring A Trailer, this M3 actually has 73,000-miles on odometer but you’ll never know. Absolutely stunning thanks to a refresh from every corner of the body that includes repainting and repairing the hood, front bumper, left mirror cap and rear declider a few months ago.
The result is a stunning diamond black metallic paint work that blends perfectly with the beige leather upholstery found in the cabin. Like the exterior, the interior looks completely flawless without any hint of wear or weather.

Inside, the buyer will find a power sunroof, heated front sport seat, air conditioner, cruise control and of course an AM / FM / cassette stereo. There is also an onboard computer for technofiles. Just don’t expect it to keep pace with modern infotainment systems.
Of course, the car itself may not keep pace with modern M3s but it is far from the point with such a car. Underneath the hood is a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four-cylinder engine that has helped keep this model on the map. With a factory rate of 192-hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, this is a punch plus it combines a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a factory-fitted limited-slip differential.
As of this writing, the car has been bid up to $ 50,000 and there are still four days left before the auction ends. This is just $ 20,000 less than the price of a brand new M3. Some clean classic E30 M3s cost over $ 140,000 last year and although it doesn’t match that, it could come very close.
Of course, for the person who owns this car, many hardcore car enthusiasts will want to come close whenever it is a local car and coffee or car show. We’re not sure if a new M3 will get the same attention.
