Toyota says 2023 is ‘truck yes’ because the company has introduced new packages for Tundra and Tacoma.
Starting with everyone’s second favorite Taco, the 2023 Tacoma SR5 variant gets new Chrome and SX packages.
The Chrome package is only available in SR5 double cab models with 5-foot bed and 3.5-liter V6 developer with 278 hp (207 kW / 282 PS) and 265 lb-ft (359 Nm) of torque. As the name suggests, it adds a lot of chrome because buyers will get a glossy door handle, a chrome extrusion and a chrome “TACOMA” insert in the tailgate. Last but not least, the package includes a leather-wrapped shifter and 18-inch polished alloy wheels.

Similarly, the SX package is available on Access Cab and Double Cab SR5s with the V6 mentioned above. It features black fender flare, black badges, black exterior mirrors and black 16-inch wheels. Buyers will also find an “SX” graphic next to the bed.
Additional changes are limited, but the SR5 variant with optional V6 is now equipped with a smart key. In addition, the 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro has gained an exclusive solar octane paint job, while the previously exclusive electric lime paint will now be offered on TRD Sport and TRD off-road.
2023 Tundra gets a new SX package
Since the Tundra was redesigned last year, it basically carries. However, like Tacoma, it gets a new SX package.
Offered in the SR5 variant with a double cab configuration and a 6.5-foot bed or a CrewMax configuration and a 5.5-foot bed, the SX package features body-color accents on the door handle and rear bumper. The model avoids tundra badging on the door for a more minimal look.
Elsewhere, there are four exterior colors – white, magnetic gray metallic, celestial silver metallic, and midnight black metallic – and 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray metallic finish. The model also has a black 4 × 4 badge and black interior trim, replacing the usual smoky silver accent.
