VW has introduced the new 261 HP ID.4 Pro 4Motion in the European lineup

VW today announced a second all-wheel-drive model in its European ID.4 lineup with ID.4 Pro 4Motion.

Available as the only twin-motor model except the ID.4 GTX, the new ID.4 Pro delivers slightly less power than the 4Motion GTX. The rear-mounted motor pushes mostly at 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS), while the front motor is designed to help when needed and to stay out of the way when it is not, producing an additional 107 hp (80 kW). / 109 PS). They are combined for a maximum output of 261 hp (195 kW / 265 PS).

It’s shy of ID.4 GTX’s 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) rating. The ID.4 Pro 4Motion’s 0-62 mph (100 km / h) time is 6.9 seconds, 0.7 seconds slower than the ID.4 GTX, while the maximum speed is limited to 112 mph (180 km / h).

This is intentional though, as the ID.4 Pro 4Motion is designed for the exterior type more than the Speed ​​Freaks. This extra motor means it can pull 441 pounds (200 kg) more than the RWD ID.4 Pro performance for a total capacity of 3,086 pounds (1,400 kg). VW even calls it a powerful tow car that is ideal for small trailers and boats.

The new model comes with a 77 kWh battery pack that, in WLTP cycles, has a range of 321 miles (517 km). Volkswagen says it can charge five to 80 percent in just 36 minutes on a high-speed charger.

With Priscilla now open, the ID.4 Pro 4Motion starts at 49,020 (current exchange rate $ 52,056 USD) in Germany.
